Is bullying a sin?

I am always bullied at school and truly am scared for the new school year. Is it possible that bullying someone is a sin?

Yes, bullying is a sin for several reasons but let Christ be your example. He was also bullied but said not word in His own defense. Instead, He forgave them for what they did. Christ was our exemplar. it takes much more strength to follow His example, than to follow the whims of Satin.

Do you think Jesus would bully people? I'm pretty sure it's not in the 10 commandments, lol, but that doesn't make it ok. Always remember that its ok to talk to adults when you have a serious problem. Especially if you feel physically threatened. Don't hesitate to talk to a teacher, counselor, parent, or friend. Talk to God as well, there is a reason you are going through this... maybe it will make you tougher as an adult. Good luck and Godbless!

don't worry about what they do - just worry about what YOU DO.

yeah, bullying is a sin.
try to stay away from the kids that bully you, and try not to worry so much about it. if it gets really bad you might want to tell one of your teachers or something.

:) have a good school year!

yea i guess but guess wat act stronger than those ******* bullies!!! go with the principal . if they tell u "give me your lunch money" well u tell them "no its my money, if u want money ******* work for it!!" it works for me

It has moral and or religious implications depending on a persons faith or lack of it

If religious-"love your neighbour as yourself" therefore bullying is rejecting this teaching and therefore a sin -as the intention to bully/oppress a weaker person is there.

Non religious- a society has to function through cooperation and working together for mutual advantage-that is why we have laws. Bullying transgresses this moral principle and if physical then the legal framework.
If we all bullied /terrorised some one who is weaker than ourselvesthen society would break down and anarchy.

yes I think it is, because god created us and loves everybody and if someone bullies someone else its almost like their bulling god.

It's only a sin if you believe it's a sin.

Just walk away and stay away.

Absolutely but it is not your sin. Try to find people who are nice and not winners or bully people. There are many to chose from. If the bully becomes dangerous it is best to seek help right there. Use your brains to avoid the gangs and their drug threats. It is nice to be able to move away or do home school.

Ya, I'd say it is. No one should treat someone else badly. What do they do to you man? I can help you a bit. If I were you I would learn how to defend myself. Personally I never get bullied because they all know I would kick there ***. I have a rule though that I will only defend myself if they throw the first punch. It is only fair to fight in self defense, but if they hit you I'd fight back. Look at my last question if you want to know something about stopping bullys from bugging you. I wrote about how to defend yourself and helping others and I don't want to type it again. Bullying could get serious though. I have a friend that gets bullied and he makes a fool of himself by threatening them back with some incredibly wimpy thing. Don't do that, and do tell anyone that you know how to defend yourself but if they hit you, you can go to town on them. Tell a counselor or a really nagging tattle tale teacher who will bug them to death though if they insult you. Goodluck.

Ofcourse it is. Making other peoples lives miserable is not something god wants you to do. I think you should make some friends and travel in a pack. Also, do something, even if it's just an act, that will make them scared of you. Like if your friend lets you fake hit h9im and makes a scene infront of the bullies. Then kick your friend in the groin and that'll really scare the bullies. Ofcourse, if you don't feel like doing that, just tell all the teachers. Also, if they really bruise and bloody you up, you can use it to your advantage to show everyone how serious you are about the bullies. That could get them sent to juvie if you show a few teachers, and your parents.
