If once a person has been subject to severe bullying, is he doomed for life?

because more than often if a poor guy mans up and takes care of the bullies himself someday, he invariably becomes an evil person himself (he has crossed his line of innocence). So when he was bullied, nobody respected him. Now after he takes revenge also nobody respects him.

Should the person really have continued wasting his life, since the time he was subject to bullying? He was not going to get respect from anyone at any time anyway.

well, yeah, that happens in guys that have no brains, or at least don't use them. Often the guy that was bullied, grows up and gets over his past and becomes a decent human being.

Um....its braver to walk away from a fight....than to be in it....anger and revenge solves nothing.....just gives u guilt...which will equal to more stress...

I was bullied in school. In turn, I bullied those weaker than me.

I look back on it all now with regrets, and can't wait till I can apologize to those whose lives I made miserable.

With growth and maturity comes a better sense of self. So no, I personally have not been doomed for life and I pray those who I bullied have not been either.

The kids at Columbine were bullied and they fought back, now they are famous.

how about just standing up for yourself and not letting those bullies just push you around. at the least, they'd reckon you aint one they can just toy with. and better know where you stand; knowing your limits as well.

since when did standing up for yourself become a bad thing. If a bully messes with someone and that bully is "taken care of" then I applaud the once victim and hope nothing but the worst for the bully. Your thoughts are screwy.

He is not doomed for life, but he is definitely emotionally and psychologically crippled. Also, standing up for yourself is not as easy as it sounds. It has been my experience that if somebody bullies you in school, there's nothing that you can do about it. You can't fight back, because you'll be blamed and the bully will be ignored. You can't go to the teachers for help because--while they may talk to the bully and get him or her to stop--eventually the bully starts bullying again. Sad but true.

Of course not.

Standing up for your self or for others in this case is no way near a bad thing. When I was younger I had older guys who tried to bully me, and I simply stood my ground. Nothing wrong with that in any way.
As far as bullying scarring someone for life it has happened yes but there really is no need to let it get to you. Most of the time guys change drastically both physically and personality wise between childhood and adulthood so the people who did the bullying regret what they did in the past sometimes.

Hope this helps. Have a good one now.

We can't control what happens to us, but we CAN control what we do with it!!! A saying is our life is 10% experience, 90% perception.
What we do with what happens defines us. We choose what we do. If we end up bullying others, that's our fault, not the orignal bully.

Its not revenge if you call the police and prosecute. And not all victims become bullies. Some are even child care acitvists.

Raca. Scubulos. BS.

First of all, many people endure severe bullying (which you seem to be describing the purely male "fistfighting" style of bullying. Well, news for you. There are many forms of bullying that span all of the forms of abuse, physical, emotional, and sexual.

Also, you seem to be of the mindset that the individual was bullied because there was something already wrong with the person. That too, is complete and utter bull's waste.

The children who are bullied, most often, good studies have shown, are those who are peaceful, believe in talking through conflict in a reasonable manner rather than resorting to violence, read a lot, tend to be more intelligent, or at the least, more thoughtful, and tend to be gentle, kind, and mature children.

Furthermore, even if a "poor guy" once did "take care of the bullies" and as you put it "crossed his line of innocence" How does that make him bad for life? He did something wrong, once, and not only that, he did something that had been done to him, over and over and over ad naseum!

Who are you to say that nobody respects him (or her, its not just a male phenomena). Perhaps when he's not in school during the summers, he goes away to an art, writing, music, or sports camp far away from where the bullying crowd is, who respects him immensely for his intelligence, gentleness, kindness, and talent.

Who says that they would be wasting their life, or that they never will get respect. It is true that such bullying makes it difficult for him to feel worthy of respect, which can make it harder to get, however, there is no reason, that with time and work, to work out the burden that was unfairly placed upon him by others, that he couldn't grow up to be a respect worthy and getting citizen.

You are not a bully if you "take a stand" in defending yourself.
In taking the stand in defending yourself, you've not crossed
the line.
Now, after being bullied, later on you want "revenge."
Then you do "cross the line."
For revenge is mine sayeth the Lord. ():-})>{+

Well, if the person is having difficulty with the issue, therapy can be of help.

Its an exaggeration to say that because someone has been subjected to severe bulling that he is doomed for life. I can think of lots of people who can say that they have been bullied and are successful in life, such as people with physical deformities and disabilities. So no just because someone is bullied does not mean that they are doomed for life.
Neither does it mean that youre "damned if you do and damnded if you dont". Standing up for yourself everytime youre bullied doesnt mean youll become evil. It just means that you respect yourself and how can that lead someone to being evil or that hes taking revenge. Although you could stand up for yourself in 2 ways, either assertively or aggressively. If you are aggressive then you might turn out evil because you will do whatever it takes even if you have to hurt someone to stand up for yourself. Or you can be assertive which is standing up for yourself but not at the expense of hurting the other person. Then theres the passive part, where you dont do anything to protect yourself when bullied.
