Why is bullying bad?

I don't want answers like because its mean or it hurts other peoples feelings. Yea kinda obvious. But what are the emotional effects of bullying/violence, etc?

Bullying has really damaging effects. I was the victim of bullying both physical and emotional. It can well fall under abuse. Depression, anxiety, all that stuff. Personally, even now, even years later, I stll have very clear memories of the hell I went through-the **** had to deal with. The reasons why I would sit in class wishing I would disapear, to become invisible, to just die. If I see anyone being bullied now, I will set the abuser straight. Often with a few choice words and nice report at the office. Honestly, I don't take that from anyone anymore. I feel and see the pain of those who get bullied...I still HATE those who bullied me.

bullying harms others in ways that you cant imagine. bullying can cause many people to put themselves down and possibly commit suicide, get sik and become mentally disabled. if a bully hits a guy in the head too hard, he might suffer from brain damage and my loose his eye sight or one of his senses. a bully can effect relationships 2, so ppl can become emotionally affected and have a scocial problem.

when someone is told horrible things about themselves when they're in their formative years, or if they're made to feel like they're inadequate, or inferior to others, those things can become deep beliefs that are hard to ever shake. some people carry this baggage with them their whole lives. bullying can have a permanent negative effect on someone's self image.

I had a neighbor when I was young that was chubby,a band member,chess club member(very smart).and had a younger very pretty sister,he didnt fit in she did.I was older than both of them and would sit with Brian sometimes on the bus so that no one would tease or bully him.I liked him!!! One Sunday he didnt go to church,told his parents he was sick,they came home to find he had killed himself,that is what bulling/violence can do to someone.It has been over 30 years and I still remember that Sunday that I heard the news like it was yesterday.Thank goodness my child was like myself ,and was secure enough with herself that she looked at each person as individuals,and did not have to make fun of someone else to feed her ego.
