Can rage, anger, aggression be treated that stems from prolonged bullying throughout your life ? |
i never stood up to my victimizers and persecutors, they walked all over me, humiliated me, taunted me mentally....this has happened ' excessively ' throughout my life, im 30 now and have borderline personality disorder. in controling the outbursts without any therapy. but i know i need therapy. Now that you are 30 you know and understand yourself pretty well and you say you are vastly improving which is good. However don't rule out therapy which can only help you to improve your life even more. many people have regular therapy because it helps a great deal. You really need help if 30 and thinking about this. the right thing to do is go for therapy sessions. but other thing you can do is, choose one day, keep yourself alone in a blanket at your own room, then cry and scream out loud untill all your anger gone( you can go to other places too, beach, mountain etc...).. it works on me you know.. do you still live in a same area where you get bullied? if yes, you should move, far as you can. forget all the things happen, start a new life with new people that you never know before. who knows someday you would enjoy your life.. I am not a doctor but it sounds like your outburst, rage and starting fights can stem from the abuse you have suffered by others. But the important thing is for you to seek counseling. That way you can vent your anger in a controlled setting. And get the support you need to over come this problem. There is medication out there to help you deal with the situation. Don't be ashamed if you do have to take medicine. I have suffered from anxiety for most of my life (I am 50yrs old) and I finally went to see a psychiatrist and went through group therapy along with medication. I am still taking my medicine and it has made me stable . I can go out to the store or just run some errands so I take my medication before I go out. I think it is important for you to seek help before you hurt yourself or someone else. It's all up to you. Good Luck and God Bless. |
