Asthma and bullying?

hi i am being bullyed because i had to have emergency oxygen in my classroom now all my friends are teasing me

Friends dont bully friends.

Do your best to just ignore their arrogance. Talk to your school counsellor about it, and see if the school nurse would be willing to come to health class to talk about asthma, diabetes, allergies (that way you arent being singled out if she only talks about asthma).

Bullying isnt okay, not ever. If you ignore their crap eventually they will move on. They do it to see reaction and reaction gives them power. Only losers bully.

Please make sure you start talking to the school counsellor on a regular basis. Bullying causes trauma and that can lead to things like depression, amongst other things. Its totally okay to open up to the counsellor and talk about everything. There is NO reason to be embarrassed... I promise.

Then they are not Freinds

i havve Asthma aswell and hve done for 37 years

try and make them aware about asthma

maybe then they will understand

Good luck

Being teased isn't being bullied. If you are asthmatic you have a real problem. Don't aggravate your life by being wimpish.

Don't pay any attention to those bullying you for an asthma attack. If they had half a brain they would know better but obviously they don't, in fact I would tell them if they had half a brain you would be insulted.

Doesn't sound like good friends to me. A good friend would be helpful and understanding. I think it is time to change your friends. Anyway I have asthma since I was born and I never got teased once. Asthma is a serious illness but can be controlled with the regular use of inhalers and oxygen. Did the teacher not do something about that. It is his or her job to control a class at all times.

If it is caused purely by asthma, go to an accredited practitioner of Buteyko and learn this breathing method. My son was a chronic asthmatic, often hospitalised, from age 2 1/2 to age 12. After learning Buteyko, then using it to treat symptoms over the next 6-12 months, he has been asthma free for over 2 years now. It's definitely worth trying. In my country they offer a no questions, money back guarantee. One of the happiest days of my life was telling our Buteyko teacher we didn't want our money back !
