Do people seriously think bullying and name calling will motivate people to lose weight? That's sick & twisted

I think it will just lead to depression and low self esteem and therefore more comfort eating. Or it could lead to an eating disorder which is terrible.

I think if people lose weight, it must be off their own accord and not because of mean spirited callous people who feel the need to belittle others to build themselves up.

Do they not realise their behaviour is unnacceptable?

Unfortunately many adults are guilty too and they really ought to know better.

Bullying of ANY kind is despicable and unacceptable.

To victims of bullying I'd advise , if you are in school Tell a teacher and parent. NEVER be afraid to tell no matter what the bully threatens because a bully is always a coward.
A bully feels inferior and thats why they attack others, when you report them or stand up to them they freeze.

As re weight or any issue,its a proven fact that positive encouragement works, not negative criticism.

Its the carrot not the stick that motivates!

thats what happend to me
In school they used to make fun of me. I was 14 and 220lbs
At 21 I became 105lbs
i am 5 foot 6

kids are cruel

well if a person is trying to loose weight u shouldnt mock them u should encourege them, to continue on and meet there goal! calling them names wll just lead to making them deppresed and thinking they cant do it

It is awful. I agree with you 100%.

I was teased something awful in school & still have the scars deep inside me. I still have very low self esteem. To this day if I walk past people laughing I worry they are laughing at me. If I am slow paying for something in a long line I worry people will get upset. It is awful.

I'm do need to lose weight and I am thankful I've never been bullied or teased into doing that. My heart goes out to people who are.

But you need to remember something I learned from "Joyce Meyer" (a Christian speaker). She said "HURTING PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE"

Some people who hurt deep inside feel they must make others feel bad too. It makes them feel better about themselves. Something I will never understand but it does help me see why others do this and makes me feel sorry for them insteaded of hating them.

In my opinion it is absolutely wrong to bully people about their weight. It seems that in our society it is one of the last acceptable forms of prejudice. You have to censor the things you say about race, religious practice, disabilities, and such, however it is just fine to say anything about weight. And yes, I agree that people who receive criticism about their weight are more likely to gain more of it.

if a person decides to lose weight it needs to be for themselves not because some small minded idiot has tried to bully them into it

i agree 2 im a little over 200 lbs, 5'2 and i just turned 13 kids r soo mean to me

I get bullied by my parents ans have been verbally abused by them for years.

as a result, I have no self esteem, little confidence in anything I do, and, I want to lose weight just so I can control something in my life.

People often have no idea that what they do is harming others, even if they are trying to build themselves up, most dont se the future side effects.

I'm now 15, 5' 7'' and weigh approx 49 KGS /100 lbs
everyday feels worse than before
