Could my bulimia be affecting my period?

i'm 5'2", 134 pounds and 16 years old. i've had bulimia since i was a freshman in high school. (i'm a junior this year). i'm getting over my bulimia with the help of a friend (she's the only one who knows) it hit its worst point this year. (vomiting two-three times a day. tho i never had blood in my vomit) anyway, i havent had my period since july or august....could my bulimia have affected that? i knew anorexia hurts it, but i didnt think bulimia could

Yes- period abnormalities also occur if you are bulimic. Periods may either stop, or be erratic. If you haven't done so already, you should see your doctor for an evaluation.

any eating disorder can and im not going to preach to you about eating disorders or anything but they can affect you having kids when your older.

Yes definately.. i have bulimia and my periods have become very irregular..if u look on the sites for the effects of bulimia/ anorexia loss of periods is 1 of them

i dnt think so im bulimic and nothing is rong wit my period.its good dat ur gettin help.u shuld ask ur doctor though for a more accurate answer.

Yes because your body wouldn't be getting enough Neutriance therefor it will effect your periods and could make them stop all together.

Of course it could! You are not getting your proper nutrition. Eventually you will have additional health problems if you continue forced vomitting. Don't expect blood in your vomit to be the first indication of health problems. Long before that happens stomach acids will already be eating away at your esphagus, gums and other tissues.

Yes, if you have stopped the behavior please go to a gynecologist and he can give you hormones to start it up again. Is pregnancy a possibility? If you are going to continue with the bulimia I'm not sure if the hormones will help. Good luck!

it can yes! due to you losing iron whilst you bleed and your not topping it back up by eating, your periods wont be regular due to this, for instance...not coming on for upto 4months at a time but then bleeding for over a month which is not good for your body or your health. i had this probled my doctor put me on the pill to make my cycle more regular! Good luck with over coming your Bulimia chick x

yea its messing up ur body by making ur self sick, ur body is stressed, and that can effect it

I think it varies from person to person. I have struggled with bulimia since I was 12 (I am 25 now) and I have 3 kids and never lost my period. But please get some help, you are only 16, you don't want to be dealing with this at my age because it becomes to be a burden on your life. It's a horrible disease and as an adult you just feel trapped because you should be in control but bulmia makes you out of control.
