Bulimia: Help!?

I recently found out that one of my friends has Bulimia, and I'm really worried about her. She has made it a habit and I can tell she realizes how dangerous it is, but she hasn't made an effort to stop. Please, no insults, I just want to know: what's the best I can do to help her? I'm scared for her health and I don't want her to continue to pursue such a dangerous habit.

Be supportive. Tell her you will go see a doctor with her. Make sure you don't come across as judgmental.

She will make her own decisions in the end. You can't force her to get help, she has to want to help herself. Let her know that you are there to support her in any way.

My heart goes out to both of you.

Talk to her parents and your parents. That is the best thing to do.

Get her some professional help. This is something that is almost impossible to stop on your own.

just tell her its bad 4 her and if she doesn't listen call her parents or a counsleor(if ur @ skool)

Tell her to notice what the issue is. Why is she doing it? Is it because she thinks she is fat? Tell her there a lot of people who care about her and don't want anything to happen to her. Hope it helps.

Talk to her parents, the school counselor, a teacher. Get an authority figure involved because she will not be able to handle this without professional help. Get her the hep she needs and let her take it from there. The only thing you can do is YOUR personal best.

show some bad side affects and things that can happen that will scare her out of it hopefully it works for most smokers about the black lung and all thhat it scares them and it makes them want to stop just tell her she really needs to its affecting her heath bad and if u dont stop get help and u also need to tell her parents or a guidence council so that that can help parents and guidence councils can get alot of help for ur freind good luck and i hope she stops

Offer your support to her and if you can, try to encourage her to get help for her condition. Let her know that you're worried about her safety and offer to speak to her parents with her so that someone can help her before it becomes a life long habit. Above all, let her know you love and care for her and try not to treat her any differently if she decides she doesn't need help, some people need to ask for help on their own.

ask your friend to go and seek medical help and consult with a psychiatrist coz you know this disorder can be triggered by an emotional problem,it is not an insult btw, goodluck!

talk to your parents or a teacher or the school nurse. whatever you do, don't do nothing. this could be harmful to your friend, and ti is your duty to help her.

your friend has to wanna help herself get better.if her parents know about it they should try to help her get better. You could call a hotline for bulimia too, and there is also websites for bulimic people.they will give you more info of what to do.

Sometimes one evil can be replaced with a lesser evil so you could always suggest that if she must binge then bingeing on fruit would be much better than bingeing on high calorie foods. Bingeing on fruit will help to fill you up and there are not many calories in fruit.

Perhaps she needs another hobby to replace her eating hobby.

First things first, tell her parents, the school counselors, and any other adults who know your friend. Once you know adults are involved, let your friend know that you are there for her and you love and care about her, but realize that she may be angry at you for telling her parents her secret. Keep in mind that although she may respond negatively to your intervention, it is the right thing to do and your friend could suffer serious damage from this disorder.
