My third toe hurts and i dont know why! help!!!?

this morning, i woke up and my third toe hurt! as i feel around, the only place it hurts is by the squishy part or the round part of the toe, sort of by the toenail. i havent experienced any shock there recently, and idk what has happened. please help! there are no bruises (yet) and it is not turning colors. again, any help is appreciated.

Ingrown toenail? How about shoes, have you been wearing different shoes lately? If your third toe is the longest, then maybe your shoes are too small. If you are young, this is all I have to offer, but if you are over 45, then I can think of some other reasons.

i would have to agree that it mite be an ingrown toenail or you could have squashed it somehow without noticing it.
