Question about Sit-ups?

I bruised my tail bone about a month ago, (don't laugh) lol and it's ok now, it just still hurts to do sit-ups. I exercise 3 times a week and I was just wondering if doing sit-ups with my arms under my behind is doing as much good as a regular sit-up. That's the only I can do them without it hurting. It feels easier. What do you guys think?

check out ways to do 'crunches' without laying down.... i have found quite a few ab exercises that I can do standing up... they work and I dont have to deal with the back pain that comes from laying on the floor

As long as they are not behind your neck (Can strain/Hurt your neck) and as long as they are anchored (held together on your chest/stomach) so under your rear will do!

I know what bruised bones feel like and it helps to take Ibuprofin as an anti-inflammatory.

well u wont get as much exercise out of it but tht happened 2 me 2 and it hurt but dont over do it and let it heel it will go back 2 normal soon but yea tht will help in a way its better than not staying active

do it on a big ball or try doing some planks

Try doing flutter kicks. That exercise is the same, if not better, then doing sit ups. In Basic training, if someone failed to do sit ups they were told to do flutter kicks as an ab exercise

Try to do them on your bed. That might be better for you.

If you're tail bone hearts that much than I guess it's okay. But sooner or later you'll have to try doing sit-ups with your hands behind you're neck.

do a reverse situp
lie down and bring knees up to chest that might work better

Yes it is ok to do it that way, as long as you feel the burning you know you are burning calories. Crunches are better for burning stomach calories though.

Tail bones take a very long time to recover, because i had the exact same problem. I probably get about 7 or 8 hours of excersise a week.

If your tail bone still really hurts when doing sit-ups, placing your hands under your but does make it easier. But if you just do twice as more then regular, you'll be good!

It wont do as much. But try laying on ur side and put ur forearm on the ground and ur legs straight out and together. Then lift up ur side off the ground and do it for both sides.
I think it even works better sometimes if u know how to do it.
And u can feel it working.
