My son fell on his back over 20 feet.Since then he has had seizures and alot of twitching of his head.Help!!? |
All cat scans have been normal, they did an EEG and it was normal and an MRI came back fine. They said his brain was bruised(concussion).I want to know will this go away or will it always stay with him. What can I do to help him.My other son had a concussion and none of this happened to him. What would make this happen to him.Why is he having a nervous like tick of twitching now.He was a healthy very active boy before this accident. The accident happened a little over a week ago.I am so confused about everything and worried sick.Anyone with any similar experiences please help me out and give me some suggestions please! I had an experience with my 13-year-old son last year. He didn't tell me he had hit his head at a swimming pool. Work closely with his doctor, and notify them of any changes. He needs to rest and not move around a lot. It depends on how hard he hit his head and healing time varies in different people. My son had the twitching, along with trouble focusing his eyes also. It took my son three weeks to recover from this, but he did make a full recovery. Hope your son feels better soon! These are questions you need to ask your doctor. I am not sure where you live, but I would get my son's test results or the actual scans that he has had and go to a different doctor . It always pays to get a second/third opinion ....especially if you feel there is a difference in him. Please go get another opinion ...it is best to safe than sorry .. I am not sure about accident-related seizures, but I do have some experience with hereditary seizures and anti-seizure medication. The neurologist should be able to prescribe some anti-seizure meds. There are tons to choose from, so they may need to "play around" with the prescription to find the medicine with the best results and least side effects. Hopefully his body will recover and the seizures will stop. But in the mean time, keep up with the neurologist and other doctors to make sure he is getting proper care and treatment. And stay on top of him about taking the meds, and make sure that you understand the dosing instructions. For some anti-seizure meds (like Keppra), you start off at a minimum amount and slowly increase to the full dose. Others like Dilantin start out at the full dose and are adjusted based on your blood tests. Another point - if the meds are going to be long-term, you may want to consider generic drugs. But beware, switching between brand name and generic is just like switching between medicines. Your son may be at greater risk for having more seizures while his body adjusts to a different prescription. So ultimately you want to find one that will work and is affordable and stick to it. Good luck! |

I sometimes hurt easily... I don't think so. did you by any chance hear a crack when it happened? Well, I play basketball a lot and I got that all the time, especially when going for an in air dunk from a pass (all ... the black will go away on its own it happend to my toe once with a door your nail will not fall off at all it will just take sometime to heal if it feels broken then you should see a doctor other t... ew why would it help? that will just crack your toe nail in half then you will be bleeding and bruised ...dude go get it xrayed ...to be safe see the doctor....head injury followed by headaches and dizziness should not be ignored..... ...I agree for the most part with the previous answers - bruising is NEVER acceptable.
