Have i broken my pinky finger?

i was playing sport and i went to catch a basket ball and it bent backwards and touched my hand its bruised and swollen i cant moven it and its sore what should i do
p.s my mum and dad wont take me to the docters unless its really dramatic

Tape it to your ring finger- that is all the Docs would do for you anyway.

Judging from what you say, I'd say yes, it's broken. I'm not a medical expert but those are the common symptoms of breaks. Less likely, but less severe would be a fracture or a really bad sprain.

There is no reall way to tell unless you get an xray. If it is broken and your parent refuse to take you in, it can regrow improperly and cause you pain down the line or heal it self in a crooked position.

well once I fell down and my thumb bent backwards. it got really swollen. the doctors did the x-rays and they said it wasn't broken. it hurt for months. it was probably a muscle tear. I don't know about urs because my finger never got bruised. mmmmm. don't know what to say. see if u can move it once if swelling goes away. if u can then is not broken.
