Quick question 10 points? |
Ok so today in basket ball (about 11am) the ball hit my middle fnger straight on, and my finger is HUGGGEEELLLYYYY swollen, its not broken becaus ei can bend it and i broke a finger before and it doesnt hurt as much as when i broke that one. Im just worried if i put ice on it it will bruise badly? If you put ice on it, it will help the swelling go down. You will see the bruise no matter what, because of what happened to you. Keep the ice on it, the swelling will go down, and if you don't think that your finger is safe enough, go to your local drug store and buy a finger splint and some tape, and wrap your finger up. It helps a bunch- and I've also done what you have done in basketball. yes it will defindentlt do so. Yes it will, do it now... probably ice is probably the best thing. it will bring the swelling down, and if it doesnt then it is probably more serious. i dont know about bringing the 'brusing' out though. I dont know, but it is sounds like youve staved it, put it on ice, strap it to your 1st and 3rd finger and dont use it!! it should increase the amount of blood flow to the area (trying to keep it warm) and with the increased blood flow will come all the platelets and red blood cells that shuld deal with the problem fine, but as always its probably best to seek medical attention as it may be fractured, chipped or generally balls up Nope and you can't possibly be certain it is not fractured, despite it's mobility. Ice on it immediately, alternatively glass of water with ice in it and hold your finger in the glass for as long as you can and keep repeating the process. yeah i should think so wow i bet that hurt ouch!!!!!!! IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET RID OF THE BRUISING, BUT IT WILL HELP BRING THE SWELLING DOWN. THERES NOT ALOT THAT CAN BE DONE FOR THE BRUISING. Place ice on the bruise to help it heal faster and to reduce swelling. Place the ice in a cloth -- DO NOT place ice directly on the skin. Apply the ice for up to 15 minutes per hour. Put ice on it and explain it as a sports injury. No matter what you do to it it's going to bruise anyway. Put it in ice then strap it up. put on some ice, you'll feel your finger will get better. The current philosophy is to ice an injury for the first 24 hours to reduce the swelling. After that, gentle heat will promote increased blood flow, healing and reduction of bruise color. noooo... u should massage it with hot water and be careful that ur hand never brusied again I would guess that you have sprained your finger. A similar thing happened to me a few years ago. With these types of injury your meant to either employ the RICE or hot/cold treatment. Someone else has said you cannot be sure it is not broken and that is completely correct. I expect last time you broke the shaft of one of the bones. It is perfectly possible to chip a piece off, or split a bone or do what is known as a avulsion, where a small part of bone attached to a ligament cracks off. yep apply ice, it will help the swelling. The bruising will just have to go away on its own. |

it is a dead skin that will dry out and than away. Make sure you do not touch it. You can also use over the counter anti scar creams. ...It creates a burn. It will go away, might leave a scar. ...The only thing that I can think of would be stress fractures or maybe even a bone spur. Try this though ..... put one foot across the opposite knee and pull your toes backwards for a few seconds .... i think you should go to the doctor just to make sure there isn't anything else wrong. ...I am actually having the exact same issue right now. I am not having any goopiness or anything like that in my eye, which makes me think it's just a bruise as opposed to an infection like pin... I'd grin and bare the embarrassment of going to the doctor if I were you. The answer above is probably correct but I wouldn't risk leaving it if you tried a piercing yourself and did some... Ice it down, or put ice packs on it, keep it elevated so its above your heart, and try not to move your fingers for a couple of days. Take the med's doctors gave you. Sorry about you... Try putting ice on it to take the swelling down. (oh don't forget it's going to still look red after you put the ice on so wait after you have used the ice and then check.) Then see what ... |
