Lump/Bump on Hand?

For weeks now i have been getting this pain in my hand. But never really thought anything of it. The other week i was watching tv and it felt like a brick had been dropped on it cause it was sharp and sudden and it lasted ages. Still never thought much of it. But not i get pains like that everyday, they go away though. But today i noticed a lump kind of thing on my hand. Well i dunno what it is. Its not on the other hand though. All i can describe it as is if you run a finger across my hand there is a bump in it. Its quite small and its in line with the pointing finger, and its not a vain. And i also noticed today my vains are really dark. you can never normally see mines and i first thought it was a bruise. Anyway any ideas? Its not sore to touch and it doesnt move.

It could be a ganglion cyst, it appears on the hands and feet. The cause is still not known. They usually dissapear over time but you should see your own GP just to make sure.
