My bruises won't heal, what should I do? |
Nearly every time I am bruised, the bruised spot will not heal. I have bruises on my body from when I was nine years old that haven't healed yet, and I am currently seventeen. Is there anything I can do to make them dissapear? You could possibly have a bleeding disorder caused by poor liver function. Specifically, your blood may not be clotting as it should. You probably bleed alot when cut or abraded? If so, you need to see a gastroenterologist or a hepatologist who will probably give you medicine for coagulation of the blood. If you are having this problem now, you should get to the doctor right away to see if there are any other problems as well. The symptom you are describing may be a marker of liver disease and/or other liver problems that you do not detect yet. A simple liver function study (blood test) will clear up the mystery. On the contrary, it could be something else entirely but you should see a doctor about it one way or the other. "to make them disapear" i would talk to your dr and let him know your problem i get bruises when i get vitiman b12 deficient im not saiying that is your prob but talk to the doc anyway and he may have a solution for you You should probably see a doctor to rule out anything serious. Also, try adding Vitamin K rich foods to your diet. do you have low platelets This sounds alarming. Have your parents bring you to the Dr. ASAP. It sounds like a coagulating problem with your blood of which you can probably get meds for. First, I would get checked out to make sure that you aren't a hemophiliac. Although I've never heard of bruises lasting that long, I would go to a dermatologist if you are concerned about the marks to make sure there is a safe way to make them disappear. Good luck! i would definitely go see the doctor...it could be a difficiency but it could be something more..thats a long time for a bruise to stay around. my mother had a disease i can't even dare to spell but it was a rare blood platelet disease that made her bruise alot and very easy and she was on steroids forever it seemed..it jacked her up... i'm not trying to diagnose or scare..i'm jus sharing with you. good luck. Do bruise easily? Go to the doctor, I have a friend who's daughter had alot of bruises all over her, they found out she has lukemia, the worst kind & shes 10, & shes not doing to well right now. Not saying thats what it is, kids usually are the ones that get lukemia, but I wouldnt take any chances. This could be something that needs to be checked out by your doctor. I have heard of this happening to people before but, can't remember the name or cause. Anyway, I really do recommend that you make an appointment and talk to your doctor, after all, only he can really tell what is going on. I will pray that all goes well for you with finding out what this is and that it will clear up for you. Best of luck. You probably have Hemophilia, this can be dangerous,go see a doctor. |
