Can having to many bruises cause cancer? |
To many bruises in the same area? Cause my friend is in football and he's constantly getting bruises on his legs and arms sometimes in his abdominal area. My mom says that he can get cancer if he keeps getting those bruises. is this true? You cannot get cancer from brusies. But your mom is right on one scientific point. When cells regenerate, they have the potential to mutate into cencerous cells if the conditions are right. Basically if a person is supposed to get cancer, this is the way cancer forms. You cannot cause cancer by getting many bruises. Cells in the body are constantly being shed and replaced, but that doesn't mean someone will get cancer. It may be an old wives tale that your mom has heard. I wouldn't worry, he won't be brusinng himself in the same place for the rest of his life. And even so, it doesn't mean he will get cancer from it. No worries. :0) i wouldn't think so ,but i'm no docter... No. Those WITH cancers, leukemia, are easily bruised. NOT bruises CAUSE cancer. Of course not. A bunch of unexplained bruises that appear immediately after a small touch could be sign of leukemia. But your friend has a really good reason for his bruises.
