Do cloves and tobacco have the same side effect when smoked?

I smoke cloves occasionaly and I was wondering if the side effects like lung cancer and bronchitis the same in Cloves (Darjum's) as it is tobacco (Newports, Marlboro, etc)?

Clove cigarettes are made up of 60 - 70 percent tobacco and 30 - 40 percent shredded cloves. Considering their tobacco content, clove cigarettes are probably as harmful and dangerous as regular cigarettes. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), clove cigarettes produce at least twice as much nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide as regular American cigarettes brands.

It's the additives in the tobacco that cause the cancer, not the tobacco itself, LAST I understood.

You would just have to research the affects of prolonged exposure to cloves to find out if it's the same.

i think a new study was released saying cloves are just as harmful as cigarettes. i am guessing 鈥爃at means in all ways.

Please take the time to read:
They probably have a similar effect. But beware, the effect can be lung cancer, bronchiolitis, or others. I know a woman who is now 93 who smoked since age 13 - that's 80 years! She has a terrible cough, but no cancer or emphysema. But I know many younger people who do, and I have a lung disease that began about age 35 - Yow! Must be from the cigs I smoked since about age 17, because there was no lung difficulty in my family, parents, many aunts and uncles, a great such. In answer to your question, I think the smoking of Cloves is as bad as smoking anything. For your own good, please understand that smoking anything is bad for you. If you ever develop, as I did, a breathing problem, you will EVER REGRET HAVING SMOKED ANYTHING - please do yourself a favor, and don't get into it. Really want to try it? Then do so, just don't continue it. When I started cigs, I had to smoke more than once, and inhale at least ten times to get past the sick feeling. If you get into smoking, you might become hooked. You don't need it! Good luck to you.
