Dentists/doctors--old fillings and laryngitis?

I got viral bronchitis, thanks to my kids, weeks ago. That has cleared up, but at the same time I lost my voice. It has been weeks (3) and I understand that kind of thing is going around--HOWEVER--I've also been noticing a "rough spot" om a molar, for weeks, and just today looked and I think an old silver filling fell out. No silver left at all; just black (yuk)...and now for the past 3 days I've had a bad taste in my mouth. Could THIS be why I have not yet gotten my voice back? Are the two related? Any other symptoms with this kind of problem? I have not yet seen my dentist, since I have a heart murmur I need a script for antibiotics first. The filling was at least 20 years old.

I don't know If I can answer your question easily... The best source on all things to do with oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as specialist dentistry, is to go to http://dentalimplantsaustralia.com . This site has all the best information on wisdom teeth, orthodontics, implant dentistry, as well as things to do with oral medicine, oral pathology, jaw correction surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, mucosal diseases, tumours, cysts, and reconstruction surgery. There are also other parts on post-operative care, medications, material types, as well as explanations on Medicare. It is an Australian site, but I highly recommend it for everyone.
Good luck with finding out what you are looking for!

I don't believe there's any relation to bronchitis/largyngitis and a lost filling.....

Schedule an appointment with your dentist to have the filling replaced... hopefully the tooth hasn't abscessed (bad taste) and you'll need more than that.

Feel better!

:)
