Stomach pain from coughing, making everything difficult, including breathing?

Believe it or not, I have sore stomach muscles from about 4 weeks of coughing due to bronchitis. It is similar to the type of pain one would have from suddenly doing a lot of stomach work (which is why I'm posting in this category :) ). By now it is extremely painful (to the point where i suppress the coughing at all costs, and if I have to cough, I actually brace myself by pressing my stomach muscles with both hands, to prepare for the searing jolt). Anyway, is there anything I can do to help relieve this? It's also difficult to sneeze, laugh, even walk, breathe, get up from a lying down position, etc. Any suggestions appreciated. :)

Boy can I relate to your question! I just came out of bronchitis, I was in bed for over a week! Yikes! I still have a place in my side where I'm sore from it and it's been several weeks!
The soreness is from all of the straining you're doing coughing, I went thru the same thing. Did your doc give you some cough meds? If she hasn't ask for it, this will limit the coughing, I had some with codeine so I was able to rest too, the important thing is to get something to control the cough. I don't know what to tell you what to do about that. All I can say is you might want to seek a professional that knows more about this sort of thing. I'm sorry to hear that your having these pains and I wish I could help you out more but that's all I can say.
