Has anyone ever been to a immunologist? Should i go? |
Im CONSTANTLY sick. Over the years i've had ecoli, mono, strep, bronchitis, flu, sinus infections, etc. Some of those i've had MANY times. I have even been hospitalized for the flu recently...had a temp. of 103 that wouldnt break, was vomitting, & was so dehydrated i had to be hooked up to an IV for days. They really didnt find anything wrong with me & figured it was just a bad case of the flu. Now all of a sudden i have this red, itchy rash on my back, shoulders, neck & its spreading. Im exhausted & feeling overall crappy. Im goin to make another doc. appoint....i feel like the doctors office is my second home. Should i go see an immunologist & see if theres something wrong with me that my doctors havent noticed? Im really beginning to wonder if i have some sort of immune deficiency or something. Any input, advice, etc would be greatly appreciated.... I sympathize with you! I get sick constantly too, and every time I get over one, the next day something else seems to come on. It couldn't hurt to see an immunologist about this. It's definitely worth pursuing. You may just have a weakened immune system from stress, or you may just be having one of those years where you catch every bug that goes by you. But if you feel like something is definitely not right, you should keep seeing doctors until you find one that can help you. Make sure you are taking steps yourself to make your immune system stronger, though. Eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and try to reduce the stress in your life. What was your platelet count during your illness, take out the record of your CBC, and than consult your an Immunologist, better consult him right away for DESENSITIZATION. I've never been or heard of it..but it probably shouldn't be that bad...it's probably what's best for you..it's either that or that itchy irritating rash..you know...they can tell you what's wrong and then fix it they probably won't hurt you....I really hope you feel better and find out what's wrong...you should defenitly go!!!!Be a strong Woman!!!鈾モ櫏鈾?/div> I don't have an answer I'm sorry, But I just wanted to say thank you, I've had the exact same thing happening with me for 5 years..I am soooo sick of the Dr's and antibiotics I could scream..I never thougth about an immunologist..I will be going to one ASAP...yes go I'm sure they will have more answers than a regular MD. Can't hurt to see an Immunologist. Some of what you describe are viral and some are bacterial infections. For most viral infections, there is no cure, just treat the symptoms and ride it out. A rash is common with viral infections and fever, usually treat with steriods (prednisone) and benadryl. |
