Crackling/creaking in throat?

So I went to the doc. yesterday, and I have bronchitis. They gave me a prescription for antibiotics & a cough medicine with codene. My problem is that my chest & throat are making a crackling sound & it's driving me crazy! Does anyone know how to make it stop? Serious answers only, please. Thanks in advance.

the only way to really make it stop is to cough it all up and get it out.. a hot drink may help, but only while you are drinking it.. in a few days it should be gone..
