Doctors have no idea? help?

so about 4 weeks ago, i got this deep cough. i had it for about 2 weeks, and after deciding it wasnt going to go away on its own, i went to the doctor. he decided that since i had no other symptoms than an occasional headache // tiredness, it was some type of walking pneumonia. he gave me a Z Pack (sp?) and that is 5 days of antibiotics that are supposed to be in your system for 10 days. well, i got that z pack last wednesday, so the antibiotics have been in my system for 12 days now, and i still have the cough. :( its annoying, and i am getting kind of worried. :(

i have also had pneumonia about 2 years ago, and it was pretty severe, and ive had bronchitis twice?

does anyone know what might be wrong?

There is a bad bug going around out there. It is taking most people about a month or even a little longer to get over it. I know this because I work at a hospital.

Take it easy and push the fluids.

Well, I would give it time. It normally takes a while to get the infection up and out of your body. Drink lots of Vitamin C and liquids, and start trying to cough all of the phlegm and dead lung up. The more you do so, the sooner it will clear your system

Go back to your Doctor for a blood test, a lung scan either an MRI or even a sonic scan.

Given that you have had bronchitis and pneumonia recently, it would only be reasonable to expect it again. However, there are some things you can do to lower your risk of contracting it next time. Yes, you need to cough to expel any mucus stuck in the lungs; you can also get some expectorant syrup from any whole foods retailer (the mucus is the result of your body fighting the infection, needs to be expelled to keep your respiratory system strong). It would be wise to start - if you haven't already - an exercise program. In the winter or during inclement weather, stay inside (treadmills are good for this purpose). The short answer to your problem is prayer to God Almighty, faith, and expecting a miracle; but there are conditions to be met. If interested and you don't know anyone who can help you w/ this, email me.
