What happens if I take more than instructed of tussionex?

It says I'm supposed to take one teaspoon twice a day, but what will happen if I double up on the dose?

I've got a bad case of bronchitis. The coughing keeps me up at night and I've got a massive headache from all the coughing.

tussionex is a cough syrup with vicodin/hydrocodone in it

Don't take more than is prescribed!!! You will over dose.
I've never heard of Tussionex, but I'm thinking it may be like Robitussin. On the bottle of Robitussin is says you can take up to 4 tsp. of the plain, or 2 tsp. of the DM. I would follow the instructions on your medicine bottle to be sure you don't over dose, or ask your Dr. if you can try the Robitussin. I would say if you're coughing so badly, I'd ask your Dr. for something with codeine in it for night time. I know exactly how you feel as my coughs are the same. Feel better, and God Bless
