Zithromax and Bronchitis?

i have bronchitis....(doctor said) zithromax does it stop the bronchitis or.... it finished the bronchitis permitly? thankx

It should stop the bronchitis for now. Unfortunately once you have bronchitis (an infection of the bronchial tubes in the lungs) chances are high that you will eventually get it again. Zithromax is a very good antibiotic and is very strong, so be sure to eat something before you take it because it can cause some stomach trouble because of the potency. Also there are some things that will help you breathe too. Look into getting an over the counter expectorant such as Mucinex, it thins out the mucus and helps you cough it up better. Also try vicks vapor rub it helps with chest congestion. There are bath salts at your local walmart that are specifically used for people with colds, they are around the perfume isle. Cool mist humidifiers also work well with relieving the congestion and cough associated with bronchitis. Good luck!

It's the best and quickest anti-biotic available.

(Acute bronchitis is often complicated by a bacterial infection, in which case the fever and a general feeling of illness persist. To be cured, the bacterial infection should be treated with antibiotics.)

zithromax is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria that are causing the infection, thus eradicating the ickiness! its important to finish all of the medication, even if you feel better. you give a chance for the bronchitis to return!

Not all bronchitis recurs. Chronic bronchitis is probably what your thinking. Chronic means over and over again ;). So , unless the doc said differently, it will cure u for good. Get well soon . :)
