Chronic Bronchitis Contagious? |
I have Chronic Bronchitis and I've been dating my girlfriend for about 3 years now she didn't really have any of this the first year of us dating but for about a year and a half she's been having "respiratory infections" it's unlikely to have them that often and for so long right. Could it be possible she has chronic bronchitis from me now. I've heard it's not but this is doesn't make sense she coughs up phlegm and stuff all the time "chronicly" So...if the mucous that is being coughed up is yellow or green that is an indication of "infection." When someone has an active infection others can "catch" it, but when something becomes chronic, it is due to a break down in that individual's immunity and ability to fight it off. If your girlfriend has a healthy immune system, she would maybe not even "catch" what you have. I would suggest taking medicinal mushrooms, steaming with eucalyptus (it can kill viruses in the lungs and moisten tissues) as well as look into getting an herbal cough syrup or tincture that is specific to the type of cough you have. Since you have "Chronic Bronchitis" it can mask an upper respiratory infection and then you think it's just your Bronchitis acting up ---you pass on your chest cold. However the Bronchitis inflammatory lung disease is not infectious of it's elf. You gave her a chest cold cause that's probably what you had and didn't know it on top of your Bronchitis, cause you are prone to any chest infection due to your illness. Hope that helps, and it's not medical advise I am a COPD sufferer and just read allot. Good luck! First, there is a clinically definition for "Chronic bronchitis" that is :"a daily cough with production of sputum for 3 months, two years in a row" |
