Question about chronic bronchitis?

Since wednesday I have been coughing up a storm, with a pounding headache and a sore throat. I also have a fever.
I am getting the same symptoms as when I had bronchitis back in January. I have pains in my head when I cough, just like when I had bronchitis before. Is this chronic bronchitis?
I just took Nyquill, and it seemed to let me clear up a bit and cough up mucus (eww, I know..). I just want to be better for my recital tomorrow. Should I keep taking it into tomorrow?

Chronic bronchitis are for smokers...and one symptom of chronic bronchitis is cough for more than 2 months.. the head ache is due to coughing and maybe a clogged nose and sinuses.. if you feel a little better taking the meds, then do so..what you should take is anti-cough medications so to prevent you from coughing frequently during your recital. and drink a lot of water to hydrate your air passages..3 liters a day.. water therapy is the best cure.. if your cough still persists, see a doctor.

You are a wonder full case of self medication. Did nobody from your family or friends advised you to consult a Doctor ? If your answer is in affirmative, now I sincerely advice to go and see a Doctor please.

My question for you is, do you smoke? If so, give up.

To put your mind at ease, you do not have chronic bronchitis. At least, it doesn't look like it. Chronic bronchitis is a subset of Chronic Obstructice Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and the vast majority of those with COPD (around 90%) are smokers. You are not considered to suffer from it unless you have had a cough producing sputum for three months in 2 consecutive years (although the definition varies). And if you don't smoke, you don't have it.

My advice is see a doctor. When you see the doctor make sure he/she knows you've had these symptoms before. If you have concerns, tell them. As for the Nyquill, if you feel better taking it, probably no harm unless the doctor tells you to stop.
