For the past three years I bleed very heavily after sex is this normal? |
For the past 3-4 years I bleed very heavily during and after sex and it's ruining my sex life. I have been on various forms of birth control (pills, depo provera, patch) for 15 years. I've been with the same partner for 8 years and get annual pap smears that are normal and have had no history of stds. Approximately 5 years ago I did have have a laporoscopy procedure done to remove an ovarian cyst that was causing a lot of pain. I've spoke to various doctors about my concerns and I've been told bleeding is quite normal, more recently a doctor told me that the cells around my cervix are immature and that birth control should help, which it has not. I'm very frustrated with the response and lack of concern I've received from quite a few doctors. I am not satisified with these answers as I can no longer enjoy sex and the amount of blood is really quite alarming. It's much, much more than some minor spotting. I'm only 30 and want to enjoy this part of my life. Please help! Bleeding during or after sex is not considered normal and therefore should be evaluated at all times. The only time bleeding during or after sex is considered normal in some cases is if you are having sexual intercourse for the first time. Ive read some material that said that some girls have hymens that are awkwardly formed, so it cause bleeding every time the have sex, you may want to confer wit another doctor If I were you I would be going to a number of different doctors until one of them can help. Its not illegal to get a second, tenth what ever opinion. What your describing does not sound normal at all. |
