Is urinating frequently before menstruation,normal?

I get frequent urges to pee before my period and I can't control my bladder, its overactive, I need depends are something. Does anyone else get this before their period?

I don't drink more then usual... and the i can't hold it in... its like i have to go every second...

I do too as well as (sorry) diarrhea for about 2-3 days right before. My doc told me it was because when pre-labor hormones are released in the body, it can trigger those reactions. Even though a period isn't labor, the uterus makes the same preparations, (cramps are the same as contractions)and releases the same hormones... make sense?

Sometimes, you become dehydrated just before your period, so you tend to drink more. One suggestion might be to try sucking on lemon drops or chewing gum before your period. This will help to slow down the urgency you have. On the other hand, if you have been diagnosed with an overactive bladder, talk to your doctor about it. There is medication out there that helps tremendously. Good luck.

Yes, happens to me. The same process that can cause you to gain weight before your period puts more pressure on your bladder. It's hormonal, lucky us!

Yes actually that happens to me too especially a few days before my period. It's like I'm constantly DYING to go!!
