I was on the birth control shot for 8 months and gained 50pds how do I lose the weight?

I've tried diet pills exercised walked jogged, and the list goes on I was 120 when I got on the shot now I'm 188!! Big difference!!

I've been on the shot (depo provera) for a decade and my weight goes up and down just as it has all my life. I've heard some people gain weight on the shot, and although I have (I was over 200 lbs at one time) I'm also able to lose it through watching what I eat and exercising.

If you are eating right and exercising regularly, then talk to your doctor about how to safely get the pounds off. Perhaps your hormones are out of balance from the depo and something needs to be changed?

Many of us do! What works well for me is cutting my calories to around 1300 a day, and working out 1 - 2 hrs per day (not necessarily all at once), 5 days a week. Good luck with whatever you do! Report It

I hate to say this but DIET AND EXCERSIZE, BABY!!!

Only eat fruites, veggies, and 100% whole wheat bread.

In addition to this, by excersizing at least 30 minutes a day, the pounds will shead faster than ever!!!

Also talk to your doctor because he or she might have some additional tips.

I was 120 when I got on it too..I got up to 130..first and last shot for me..let them check your thyroids..that shot messes with your hormones..I'm letting it wear off now and my face is breaking out..so..I'm gonna llet it get out my system and chill...good luck
