Primary biliary cirrhosis?

Do you suffer from this, or know someone who has it?
My best friend is being diagnosed with this. Can someone explain to me clearly what will happen, or what I can do to help her.

Any experiences would be helpful as she is feeling miserable.

Also we are meant to be doing a 26 mile walk for cancer relief in May, do you think she will be able to do it?

Thanks for any help you can give

When you say your friend is 'being' diagnosed I guess you mean that she is going through all the tests and they are all pointing to Primary Biliary Cirrhosis.
It is not a common condition and I have only ever cared for one patient with this illness/disease. I agree with Roddy-o, there is a lot of good information on the Internet and I think you will get a better picture from the experts - I found the source below excellent.

Having run 26 miles myself, I can say that I think your friend and yourself should forget about it for this year. I think she will be too tired to do the training (which if you are serious would have already started and can take it out of you when you are 100% fit) and then the actual run on top of that - time to get serious!

You sound a lovely and supportive friend - just keep being that.
Take care both.

It is a problem with Bile that the lliver secrets. It is found mostly in women than men. Google Search Engive will tell you all about it.
It may even tell you to tell your friend to forget the 26 mile walk.
