If anyone had this pls let me know. How much more pain is it to have gallstones in the? |
common bile duct and how long is the recovery is The gallstones are 1.7 mm in size I passed some gallstones in the bile duct before I had my gall bladder removed, and I can tell you that between being in labor to have a baby and having a gallstone attack, the gallstone attack was worse. MUCH worse. It is really painful my mum has it now i dont know how long the recovery is sry Recovery from gallstone removal surgery? Depends on the type of surgery. If they have to open you up, recovery could be 6 weeks or more. If they can break the stones up with ultrasound, you probably won't even spend a day in the hospital, and you'll be back to regular activities almost immediately. Passing a gall stone through the bile duct has to be the worst thing in the world. I just wished a truck would come along and finish me off. Once it passed, however, I was pain free. Not even a twinge. I had my gall stone AFTER I had my gall bladder removed. I did not know that gall stones can still form even if there is no gall bladder. I had a ton of fun. I disappointed all the student doctor's when they thought they had diagnosed me with gall stones and recommended gall bladder surgery only to find out I didn't have a gall bladder. My doctor used an anesthesia to put me to sleep and went down my throat to retrieve the gall stone, but it had all ready moved on. Gall stones are extremely painful and the pain can be worse after eating a fatty meal. It is fairly common and procedures are often necessary to alleviate the problem. Recovery depends on the type of procedure you have to remove the stones. If you have a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder through small puncture sites in the abdomen) your recovery shouldn't exceed a few days, though your activities may be restricted longer than that. If there are complications and you have to have an open abdominal surgery, naturally the recovery time will be longer. Generally these are done laparoscopically. Good luck! I wish you a speedy recovery! |
