Morbid looking symptoms (mostly stool related)?

For the past 10 months or so, I have been having rather ill symptoms from what I am reading which coincides possibly with cancer (possibly stomach, colon, pancreas, liver) . This is gonna be a long, detailed post, and probably has some rather gross sounding descriptions, so be warned. I also scheduled an appointment with my doctor next week, so please no "get it checked out" responses.

I'll start off with background information:
- I'm a 19 year old male, in generally good health. I'm not overweight or underweight; I don't have any medical problems now or in my past, other than somewhat continuous constipation when I was 5-6 years of age, which also lead to hemmorhoids.

-I do have a family history of cancer. My grandmother died of complications stemming from a benign brain tumor in her 70s. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer I believe in his 70s. My other grandfather was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer.

My mother has not had cancer, but she had a polyp removed from her colon a year ago (she is almost 50).

I know its very unlikely for someone my age to have this type of cancer, but I have a fear that its possibly secondary due to metasis.

Anyways, onto the symptoms (stool)

-For about 10 months I have had somewhat constipation problems-relatively "dry" stool but it still comes out easy and with no straining, but I usually have little to nothing when I wipe.
-My stool is usually brown in color, and I have not experienced any pale stools yet, but there seems to be an influx in the green stools (BMs that are both green and brown with a greenish tint) that I have had, even when I haven't had any foods that are known to cause this color
- Worst of all, I've seen a few small black spots in my stool a few times over the past six months. I do not think its blood/melena since blood usually leaves streaks. What I read is that it could possibly be iron which comes from a stomach tumor

Many Americans are chronically constipated due to the poor quality fast food diet that most of us eat. This chronic constipation can and will cause all types of various bowel related health symptoms.

Try eating a diet consistently high in fiber and containing lots of apples, raisins (organic are always best), prunes or prune juice along with lots of whole grains. Eat a bowl of real yogurt with live cultures daily or drink a couple DanActives a day. Also eat lots of vegetables and no fried or fast food at all. Drink lots of pure water each and very day. Eat this way for three months and see if your bowel problems do not greatly improve.

You are too young to have bowel cancer problems but at the perfect age for crappy diet related bowel problems.

If you wait until you are thirsty to drink water then you are waiting way too long. Adequate hydration is the key to proper bowel & kidney function along with a good complexion. If your poop sinks then you are not hydrated. Poop should float. Report It

You didn't say which symptoms you are having? However any kind of GI problem could cause issues with your stomach and colon...so don't jump right to CA. You are quite young to have any kind of the cancers you mentioned above.

Um, you didn't actually say what your symptoms are. Can you start with that?

Everything and anything causes cancer! What about a physical by a physician you trust. Print out what you've written here, add your current symptoms, and come back and let us all know how it all turned out.
Good luck.,

Sometimes constipation can be treated simply by drinking more fluids, or eating more fibers.

What are your other physical symptoms?
Not the stool analysis, but how do you feel?
Where does it hurt?

Stool anaylsis comes after you are presenting symptoms.

If you want to read up on medicine, buy the Merck Manual of Medical Information - 2nd home edition. It is clearly written, easy for non medical people to read and concise. Maybe you can find it in a library?

With kind and gentle regards
