Is birth control safe for me? |
I'm 16 and have not yet had a menstrual cycle. I have GHD and have been off of my shots for 3 months, and I went to my endocrinologist today, which decided to put me on birth control so I can get a period, mind you..I have a benign brain tumor which is the cause of my GHD and the reason for me not being able to produce estrogen on my own. I've already hit all my other stages of puberty except for some breast development and the 'growing of the hips'. I have a few questions...one is, How big will my hips be, on estimate that I'm a size 1 in jeans. Another is since I also have hypothyroidism, will I have an increased risk of side effects? And since I wont ovulate (I had cancer when I was a little tot, and the chemo damaged my ovaries)...is this necessary to even have a menstrual cycle? One more question, how much will this affect the change of my figure..I'm a runner and not too excited about the growth of my breasts and hips. Anyway, thanks for your time and concern, I do appreciate it! If your doctor has prescribed birth control for you (even though it's not for actual birth control) then he/she thinks it is safe for you. I agree with superfox if your doctor prescribed it then it must be okay for you |
