Bells Palsy - Symptoms?

I have been diagnosed with Bells Palsy plus due to the trauma i might have other nerve damage becasue my hand has pins and needles and numb feeling and i get sharp ice pick pain in my head. Also i get tierd very qucikly, for example doing the food shopping or going for a short walk tires me out. Has anyone else had the same symptoms?

These symptoms can be linked to chronic lyme disease-
the private hospital below investigate this problem expertly.
You dont need all the symptoms listed,to have it.

I havent but a friend of mine did. She just woke one morning to find half her face not working, severe pains in her head and her arm was numb. She was very scared and like you was very tired. It lasted a few weeks and she had physio to work the muscles. Miraculously it went as rapidly as it came and she is fine now. Hopefully the same will happen for you xx

ive had it in the past symptoms only lasted a few weeks, but my mum had it too (not at the same time) and hers lasted for months. our sypmtoms were the facial numbness and droopiness. dont worry too much about it, the more stressed you get the worse it seems. hope you get well soon (hugs)

Bell's Palsy is characterised by partial or one sided paralysis.
I have come across this condition in my studies. Due you suffer from this at all? Also hypersensitivity of the nerve endings is also a common symptom (your symptom).
Conventional medicine claims a high success rate in treating this condition, otherwise you could try complemantary therapies such as homeopathy (my field) which has no side effects.

I've had Bells Palsy before. I noticed it when i couldn'y blow up a balloon, half my face was basically dead. I couldn't close one eye completey, only flare one nostrils, half you lip doesnt work so sometimes when you drink you kind of dribble. The doctors just gave me some eye drops so my eyes don't dry out. I think your other symptoms need to be checked out though because those have nothing to do with Bells Palsy.

I was originally dx with Bells Palsy, and am now being checked for MS. I have facial numbness but no paralysis. If it doesnt get better see a neuro.

Greetings from a fellow sufferer. I first had Bell's Palsy when I was about 10, and again in June 2006. Although my face looks nearly normal in repose, my smile is still one-sided. My eye has also been affected, and isn't right, 17 months later. My face drags so. I have seen an eye specialist, and the eye itself is OK, it's the muscles surrounding it. I couldn't see to drive or read for months.
You mention head pains. Mine were before the paralysis developed, and for about a week after, right around the ear. The pain was very sharp. You will feel washed out for a long time, it is a viral infection, and must not try to do too much too soon. You can get Bells after an illness like chicken pox, shingles or glandular fever, and diabetics are 4 times as likely to get it as other members of the population. I am diabetic, it played havoc with my sugar levels, and I got some really bad hypos.
I was told the 7th cranial nerve gets infected, swells, but there is no room for expansion because the nerve sheath is so tight, so the nerve dies. You then have to wait for another to grow.
If anyone out there reads this post, and you suddenly find your face is drooping one-sidedly, get to your Doctor asap. If steroids are given at an early stage they may help, otherwise there is nothing conventional medicine can do. I did have electrical stimulation from physiotherapy, which may have helped.
I do hope your Bells will improve, and that you will soon feel better.
