Has anyone ever had Bells Palsy? How long did it last? |
Has anyone ever had Bells Palsy? How long did it last? My mum had it , it can disfigure for life. usually lasts about 2 weeks and then starts getting better - usually complete recovery within 6 months My little sister had it. It hereditary from what i understand...my Uncle had it too. We messaged her face daily and it only lasted a month. My friend had it for 6 months. I think the time varies for each person. You can check on this at www.webmd.com, just type Bells Palsy in the search area. This is a disease of sudden onset with paralysis of one side of the face, and there is no treatment. I have diagnosed quite a few cases, and recovery time is too variable to predict, but is probably due to a virus and ten days to two weeks minimum can be expected. Permanent disability would be very rare. |
