Do I have a drug problem? Will I have one later in life? |
I had Bells Palsy 5 years ago and I think I'm addicted to the medicine they gave me to treat it. Things of this nature should really be decided by a professional with the training to make these sorts or decisions. You may have OCD or a nervous disorder that needs some sort of medication in order for you to feel more at ease, not high, but better adjusted and more in charge. I would advise you to make an appointment with someone at your local mental health office and be assessed in order to find out if you need a little something to level out your nerves. Anti-depressants aren't usually addictive and can really help you feel more normal. I think this is what you are looking for. You owe it to yourself to go and find out! It is nothing to worry about for creating an addiction. Good luck to you. I had that too, but they only gave me medicine once and I was fine... Weird.. Well if i were you i would talk to a doctor about it. But if you need someone to talk to i am here. You would benefit from therapy and anti-depressants. These meds are not a cure but a tool to help you deal with such feelings. They are meant for you to take forever. You do not state what drug you were given to treat Bells Palsy. So can't say it's addictive. Try inositol. It's a B vitamin that they use to treat obsessive compulsive disorders. You can't OD--it's water soluble and any unused portion is discarded by the the body. Comes in a powder form. Suggested dose is up to 18 grams (2 grams = 1 tsp). They've also found it to enhance mood in people who are depressed. Work up to the 18 gram. Doctors suggest 1 tsp 3X a day for first week and then gradually increasing. It's non addictive also. I've used it for around 3 months and I've felt really great. Yes, you'll start shooting up. If you have panic attacks and think you could be depressed-you can take a mild anti-depressant and you won't feel high or anything. just don't take benzodiazepams or painkillers. They are addictive. anti-depressants are physically but your doctor just needs to ween you off (another drug you can't just stop). It sounds like you are more bored and looking for some excitement or a new feeling maybe? That's how I started. anti depressants are NOT addictive! |
