For Those Who have had Bell's Palsy?

I had it in the Fall of 2003 and it lasted about 4 months. Have had lingering effects...chin still quivers, right eye appears smaller (lid shrunken a little)

Has anyone else experienced the same? How long did your episode last? What were your lingering effects, if any?

I was diagnosed May 2007 so it has been 7 months now. Within a few weeks I saw alot of improvement but then just stalled out. I havent seen any more improvement in the past 4 months.

My affected eye appears larger than the other. It also appears to water most of the time. This is much worse when I eat, especially when what I am eating is hot. If I yawn my eye automatically closes now.

My smile still radiates slightly to the side, especially if I speak and smile at the same time. My mouth on the affected side still tilts downward in the corner.

My eye brow on the affected side is higher than the other. I wear my eye glasses most all the time now instead of my contacts to try to conceal some of the differences in my appearance.

I still have alot of twitching in my face as well. I twitch alot in my chin area and in my eyelid.

I have heard that some think acupucture can really help with lingering effects. I think I might like to give it a try. :-)
