For the last 6 months, nearly every night I get nauseous and want to throw up? |
At first I would lay there and stuff would come up my throat (no food just acid and bubbles)But I discovered that if I turn on my left side,I belch and the nasea goes away. I never used to belch hardly ! Now its every night! During day I'm pretty normal. I have acid reflux and sounds like you may also by the description given. I recommend elevating the head of the bed with a pillow that is more designed for the neck and is more firm OR to double up on pillows of regular material. It helps to NOT eat anything about 2 hours before you lay down, never lay down right after eating. Doing so lets the acid raise up the throat. I take Prilosec daily and it helps alot. IF you get this daily try that , you can get it without a prescription at almost any store. It is a common condition alot of people have, stay away from fried foods and spicy ones as that often makes this worse. With treatment improvement is felt soon. Prilosec and Nexium(that one is by prescription) stop acid production and help heal any erosions in the esophagus then. They don't work instantly but they do work soon enough. You only need one of those pills one time a day. Be patient ,you'll feel relief. Go to a doctor to get assessed. How old are you. I'm 60 and I don't do that. yup... Sweetie you probably have Acid Reflux. Go see your doctor and he'll give you a test and medicine to help you. My daughter has it. the burning sensation is from the acid contents in the stomach. your muscle sphincter could have loosened a bit and the acid is flowing upwards. it could also be a bacterial infection (my friend had the similar symptoms) you can check that by carrying out a blood test not that complicated. to cure the burning...some milk could help as it neutralises the acid. take care Sounds like classic GERD. Try over the counter Prilosec for two weeks. That acid can cause scarring in your throat. This scarring can cause an esophogeal stricture, or narrowing of the esophagus. You need to get treatment for it. In the meantime, TUMS or generic Calcium CArbonate is the way to go. Don't take it at the same time as the prilosec, though, because antacids can interfere with that class of drugs. (Proton Pump Inhibitors) |
