He tried a free clinic a while ago but they have these long apllications that take months, california.....so unkind to people who have no health insurance

Check in the yellow pages for a free clinic in your area.
I do not believe this is mutiple sclerosis. Instead it sounds like he could have injured his spine, hit something, or lifted something and has a pinched nerve. Hopefully doctors at the free clinic will be able to tell him what to do. Nice he has a girlfriend that is concerned about him.

i would either say that its hes nerves playing up but i cant tell you because i have not seen him myself i woud go to your dr an find out or i would go to the hospital they can only give you the answers your looking for

Numbness and tingling in the outer extremities as you mention are symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency ......... other symptoms he may be suffering from are headaches and migraines, nausea and vomiting, fatigue and exhaustion, excessive sweating, irritability and moodiness, inability to think clearly, dizzy spells, loss of balance, insomnia and constipation, depression and even chest pains and heart palpitations !! Pretty freaky actually if you don't realise the vitamin factor.

Eat more foods rich in this vitamin ie: skimmed milks and cheeses, fish and eggs...... if he is lactose intolerant or vegetarian then it is really important that he supplements his diet with a multi B complex tablet including all the B's ie: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 - as they work best together. Any good chemist will be able to supply you with a multi B complex tablet.

The B complex of vitamins are essential for healthy neural, immune and digestive functioning. They are a water soluble group of vitamins and as such our bodies can neither store or produce them. Therefore, we need to ingest them on a daily basis or suffer the consequences as your man unfortunately is.

When our bodies are placed under extra stress ie: new job, new home, school studies or just life .... the B group of vitamins will usually be the first to get used up.

Try also cutting out or cutting right back vitamin B complex thieves such as caffeine, tea, alcohol, sodas and soft drinks and tinned foods .............. antiobiotics, antidepressants, laxatives, diuretics, pencillin, aspirin and tobacco will all rob you of precious B complex vitamins.

Good Luck &
good health to you both 鈾?br>

Vitamin A rich foods will probably clear up his double vision problem ........... ie: carrots, pumpkin, green and yellow vegies, eggs, milk and dairy product, margarine and fish liver oil........ Vitamin A will also counteract any night blindness, other weak eyesight problems and extreme sensitivity to bright lights or day light that he may be having....... Vitamin A is also essential to build up resistance to flus and viruses. Does he constantly get respiratory infections? Pump up his vitamin C intake too as vitamin C, along with vitamin A, is a super powerfull antioxidant and will protect his body from the free radicals our body generates with each breath we take. Basically antioxidants give up their lives for the cell mutating free radicals to make them whole and healthy again.

sounds like he's just being a typical teenager and thinking that he's 10 foot tall and bullet proof and not eating properly. I used to do the same when I was that age ............ however, as real and scary as the symptoms are that he is having, he can correct it all with food and beverage and life style choices.

Hope this is more informative for you.

Characteristic for MS exacerbations is that they have to last for at least 24 hours to be considered as caused by MS. So if your boyfriend's tingling and numbness comes and goes during the day, then it is probably not MS. It could be something as simple as a pinched nerve.

If the numbess is more or less constant, it could sound like MS, since he also has had vision problems. The electric type shooting pains when bending one's neck is not something all MS patients have (I don't have them) and sensory disturbances and vision problems are considered to be the mildest MS symptoms.

MS-sensory disturbances tend to feel worse when you're warm. So if your boyfriend has the opportunity to do so, he might want to take a hot bath or a long warm shower to see if the tingling/numbness gets worse.

BUT, the symptoms he has could be a caused by a host of other, more harmless diseases/problems. That MS is usually diagnosed by ruling out every other possibility, says a lot about this, so please be careful that you and your boyfriend do not self-diagnose.

All the best to you both. The 1st of January is not too far away, so hang in there.
