How many of you used to wet your bed as a child or teen?

How and when did you finally "grow out of it"? Have you ever had an accident again at a later time even though it was months or years after you thought you had "stopped"? Or once you grew out of it, did it just suddenly stop for good?

I had a bedwetting problem every night as a kid until I was about 12; since then I usually have been able to wake up during the night when I need the bathroom, but there are still those rare times for me when I'm really tired or stressed that I won't wake up until after it's too late. Anyone else who this has happened to, who is willing to admit it? ;) It's super embarrassing when it happens, for sure... but good to know that one is not alone with such things...

I wish I was lucky enough for my problem to stop for good. i don't know if people actually grow out bed wetting more than its actually dormient (you might say) in our bodies. It can happen at any time but the million dollar question is "when"?
I have been wetting the bed for as long as I could remember. I always had to get a new mattress on a yearly basis. I never wanted to sleep over at a friends house, or even at an aunts house in fear of being shamed for my problem. It totally effected my social life as a child, even as an adult. Even though (as an adult) I have gone months and months with out an accident, I am still in the cautious mind set because I trained my mind to behave that way. I'm afraid to sleep over at my boyfriends house or even have him stay the night with me in fear I will wet my bed. I still haven't been able to talk about it due to my fear of judgment from my friend and family. Even though I know my friends and family will understand, I am way too embarrassed and ashamed that as an adult I have to deal with bed wetting. I grew up never talking about my problems. Hopefully I will overcome my issues and just accepted the fact the I am an adult bed wetter.

its super embarassing!!!! hmmm.. dont drink too many before you go to bed okey..

i stopped when i was about 9

I have wet my bed once and that was because I drank like, 3 cans of Pepsi. Don't drink ANY caffiene.!!!!!!!!!

the last time i wet my bed i was 17 but dont tell anyone ok

I think everyone use to when we were children. I dunno why, I quit when I was young but friends have had the problem into their teens.

I was about 6 when I stopped having those accidents, but my sister was 14. Some people just take more time for their nervous systems to develop. I know my uncle was almost 18 before he stopped wetting the bed. It just depends on the amount of time the autonomic nervous system takes to mature. Some babies walk at 9mo and some don't walk until 20mo. Both are normal. It is just a developmental process the same as enuresis.

Every child wet the bed, unless mum or dad wakes the child up at night to go take a wee, or uses disposable nappies. When you become a sensible child you know that you need to go to the toilet to wee, unfortunately some of us are lazy, don't want to get up out of bed, possibly because it's dark.

My answer to your question is yes. As a teen no. but I have known of others who had that problem though, it is a psychological problem.

I did until about 7th grade. It caused alot of problems when i was little because you could'nt go camping with friends or sleep over at friends or have friends sleep over, because of being made fun of even though it isn't your fault.

Y E A H ..........After all these years, it was a real bad time. I was lucky, I had an understanding MOM, she was ahead of her time. Before the popular opinion of not punishing the child for bed wetting, she was already practicing the "easy does it" attitude with me. She got me through it, at about twelve (12), I overcame it.............LATER.......................
