Why am I still doing this?(Bedwetting)? |
I am 16 years old and I have been wetting the bed for as long as I can remember. In the past year it has really slowed down until recently I've had several accidents. I feel ashamed even though I can't help it but, when I was younger I used to get a spankin by my parents and they'd usually tell me that I was just lazy and didn't get up and go. That was definetly not the case because who wants to be drenched in urine at anytime. I just wanted them to understand so bad. It was really hard explaining to my friends when I was 9,10 and 11 why my bed was wet at their house. I just want this to go away but, everyones always told me that there is nothing the doctor can do about it but, I need to know if there is medication or something. I've lived like this for long enough, I'm tired of it and I just want it to stop. Please anything would be helpful.Thank you. ikow your 16 but have you been hittin the bottle? Ive heard of adults doing that after they went out drinkin i had this till i was 12. honestly just limit the liquid after dinner and make sure to go to the bathroom right before you sleep. if the problem consists then you might have to see a doctor concerning the bladder. Dont drink anything an hour prior to bed. Go right before bed. You could even set an alarm for like every 2 hours through the night, to get up and go. Then you will be training yourself. there are exercises to control that problem. but- you'd need to ask a doctor for them specifically. the explanation will be bad online. it would be a muscle control exercise my mom makes me wear diapers and i am 12 cause i wet the bed. i think we grow out of it by the time we are 18. my sis wet the bed until your age, she had to get counselling for it Yes, there is definately medication to help this and why your parents haven't taken you to the doctor sooner is beyond my realm of thinking you may have a medical problem which you should see a doctor there is medication that can help you with this, also if you are having emotional problems this could be a factor also... talk to your dr and limit drinks before bed even set the alarm clock to wake you up to go pee in middle of night .. is it an over active bladder ? also until you get it under control use those depends panties you'll at least save one washing sheets every day You could have a deep hidden psychological problem. Or you could just be drinking too many liquids before bed. I heard that you want to avoid drinking liquids an hour before you go to sleep. Go see your doctor again, if there is not a physical reason for it, then you should see I therapist to see if there is a possible psychological reason behind it. Especially since it tapered off, then started up again. you probibly have in路con路ti路nence [in k贸nt蓹n蓹nss] goi to the doctor. it can be many things like disease, or kidney or bladder infections. stress can cause it and the more you think about it the worse it will be for you.good luck My 14 year old finally quit one year ago, make sure you get to bed early, so that you are not over tired and sleep through the urination urge, of course try to empty your bladder before bed and limit fluids 2 hours before bed time, you could have just a small bladder, try to pee a bit and hold it, pee a bit and hold it, to strenghten those bladder muscles. You need to see a doctor & be checked for conditions which can cause this problem. My father wet the bed until he was almost 30 years old. Despite that, he spanked all his kids who wet the bed. Spanking just makes the problem worse. There are treatments and medications now. I have a niece who still wets her bed until now. she's 14 years old. I hope the following links might be of help. HAHAHA I'm not to sure how to stop this but just to let you know you are not the only one who has went through this im 16 also and can say the exact same story as you including the part about your parents http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec23/ch269/ch... My cousin wet the bed until she was 14 then suddenly once she turned 17 she started wetting the bed again. It was discovered that she had diabetes. You may also have a smaller than normal bladder. While the rest of you grew your bladder stayed small and now you have trouble controlling it. Until you can get to a doctor look into wearing those goodnights underwear. They will protect you against leaks if you have them. As soon as possible get to a doctor though. You could have a very serious problem. maybe you have an overactive blatter but no worries im sure it will go away! my son encountered the same problem wen he was 21. But I have checked with doc,she said iz normal bcoz wen we r zzz,we r in unconcious condition.so,wat we do during zzz,we dunno. if this reli troubling u, i suggest u go c doc :) You could have very weak bladder muscles which are definately not your fault. Or, you could be a sound sleeper and just don't wake up when you have to "go," which also isn't your fault. Dairy foods are sometimes the cause of bedwetting - it can be an allergic reaction to dairy, even if you've never had any other reactions. The dairy thing was my problem, and like you I was in my late teens before I even tried that route and it worked. Caffeine can also be a HUGE problem because it is a diuretic and a bladder irritant. So don't drink caffeine before bed. Good luck! When I was younger I use to wet the bed alot. My mom took me to the doctors and he had no clue how to stop it, and suggested a therapists. I went to a therapist for a few years, and was told that it was due to stress I was teased alot in school and abused at home. My therapist helped me out alot, although it was more like seeing a friend and playing. Within a year I had stopped wetting the bed. You could be sleeping too soundly , to wake up..I know there is medication ,your doctor would know about..you need to be open and honest with your doctor about your problem, so he can help you.. The problem could be emotional... It could happen when you are up-set about something., There are medications that can help your problem(bedwetting)..There are many that have a problem like you, don;t let it get you down, when you can be helped.. i have a niece that had this problem. they finally took her 2 a Dr. come 2 find out she had a problem. it seems her brain wasn't telling her soon enough she had to go to the bathroom. by the time she knew it was 2 late.there r several meds now 2 treat this problem. try talking 2 your parents again.tell them what i have explained and c what they think. good luck.. try these websites |
