My heart skips beats and I can feel it in my throat. What could it be? I have been to the doc. to no avail.?

I have been to the doctor many times. If I walk for awhile or even walk up the steps, I get out of breath. I am only 33 years old. They seem to think that it is related to my Barrett's esophagus. My left arm goes numb, and if I put my fingers on my throat, I can feel my heartbeat skip a beat and come back the next beat very hard. Please help.

What it sounds like is that you have premature ventricular beats which occur in many people for which no therapy is required. If develop ventricular tachycardia you may need a defibrillator implanted. Now having frequent premature beats leading to ventricular fibrillation a lot of times is caused by electrolyte abnormalities and you may have to check your diet. May be caused by other things like a thyroid problem, hypertension, kidney problems and such. If you have none of those or any other diagnosis, premature beats are not a problem :-)
