I am getting older and have gained alot of weight- how can I lose it short of bariatric surgery?

Hello Miss Kim. Getting weight off is all about eating right and living a healthy lifestyle. You have to be willing to not diet but change your eating habits and your life. You have to make time to excercise and find the healthy foods that will work for you. The biggest mistake that most make is dieting. Once you call it a diet most have already failed. Being healthy and losing weight is all about self discipline and some sacrifice. And I'm sure you know, but I must say, Healthy food doesn't have to be tasteless or leave you hungry. That seems to be a huge misconception by most. Good luck!

Exercise for two hours a day (walking, biking) and eat less than 2000 calories.

Eat right and get off your lazy *** and excersize.

excersise & lift weights, watch what you eat (dr. atkins does wonders but its really hard to stick to)

Good diet and excercise exactly what you have to do after bariatric surgery except you don't have all the complications like the lack of absorption of protein and other vitamins, etc., etc.

cut your calories, eat healthy and get moving (exercise)
Its a no-brainer.

That Surgery is a joke...if you don't want to work hard to fix yourself then it is useless.

Get a diet buddy, who will help you monitor your intake. Take walks everyday but start out slow. Add a little distance every three or four days.

do some work out and try dieting and eat something that is healter for you

diet and exercise

Exercising and a proper diet are essential to weight loss and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

You are never too old to start so don't worry about age!
Have fun, be creative nutrition and exercise can be really fun!

Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy /lapband (all types of weight loss surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your lobesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her obesity surgery after delivery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps
