Need dietitian services in St. Louis, MO BUT needs to be covered by insurance.? |
I am a candidate for bariatric surgery; however, my insurance requires that I do a 26 week medically supervised diet and exercise program. My primary care physician gave me a dietitian referral. I've looked in the phone book and searched the internet but can't find a diet program that is covered by insurance. I can't afford the fees they're asking: $55/hour, $250, or $100 initiation fee and $40 a month. Am I going about my search the wrong way? On Monday I will call my PCP and ask her if she has any recommendations, but for now, does anyone know if I can just have my PCP monitor my weight while I do my own diet...will that be sufficient for my 26 week diet program requirement by my insurance company? Call your insurance company, they will be able to help you find a nutritionist and answer all of your questions. This way you will know that everything will be covered and nothing will be out of pocket. Good luck |
