Will Kaiser cover a gastric bypass?

I have Kaiser Permanente in N. California through my employer. I've had coverage for about a month and a half, and was uninsured before then for three years.

I'm very obese, and I have high blood pressure, and likely borderline diabetes at least. Do you think Kaiser would even consider me for possibly getting bariatric surgery?

What would be involved in getting the surgery through them. What would be my best strategy. Thanks!

Yes they will. My sister has kaiser and she had the surgery a year and a half ago. Your best bet would be to get tasted for sleep apnea and diabetes. Most sleep apnea patients are prime candidates for it. You will have to do a liquid diet for a bit, they will ask you to lose a few pounds on your own first . Then they will have you make a journal. But you sound like a candidate for the procedure. Good Luck!
