Is there a way to fund for Gastric?

My insurance will not pay for any bariatric surgery and I am desperate for help! Is there a way I can get a grant for the surgery?

Insurance won't cover it because it's dangerous and has a way-too-high rate of side effects. It's not in the interests of your insurance company to pay for a procedure that will make you MORE sick and mean that they have to pay for MORE surgery later to fix you, just to make you look thinner for a few years.

In just the first 3 years post-op, Lap Band reported 89% had one or more adverse events, ranging from mild, moderate, to severe. The most common were:

路 vomiting (experienced by over half)

路 gastroesophageal reflux (regurgitation)

路 band slippage/pouch dilatation and stoma obstruction (stomach-band outlet blockage)

路 esophageal dilatation or dysmotility (the long-term effects of dysfunctioning esophagus are currently unknown)

路 constipation, diarrhea

路 dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)

As Lap Band reported, in their study, 25% of the patients had their bands removed during their 3-year follow-up, most after adverse events. Another one in ten needed a second surgery to fix a problem.

What!!! You want a gastric... It's simple... Don't eat in a day... just drink a little amount of water... then your stomach fells really weird like it was drilling... sometimes you may have a headache
