I need Bariatric Surgery. How can I get it without Insurance and Bad Credit? |
I am a 28 year old female who is single with no kids so I can't get Insurance through any county agencies. My job doesn't offer insurance and I can't find a company 2 give me individual coverage at my weight. I am living check to check so i can't afford a high monthly payment...... does anyone have any help for me. I weigh over 420lbs and I have tried everything else. My doctors say if i stay this way I maybe dead in 2 years so, Please help me. Do you have friends or church that could help. I heard of a woman once on GMA who couldn't afford it and her friends and church all pitched in a little money each to pay for it. http://www.obesityhelp.com/ If the surgery is medically necessary (and an emergency), some county hospitals have charity programs that will pay for it. Call the financial assistance office at your local public hospital to ask. Sorry I dont know of any doctor/hospital who will do this surgery for free...also there's alot of counseling that has to be done before they even agree to do the surgery...such as dietician and psychology counseling...I know someone who is doing this surgery and it will be 6-9 months before it is done because of all the counseling he has to go thru...this isnt just a regular surgery it can be high risk especially for someone your size...you need to ask your doc's what else you can do to start losing the weight...change your eating habits isnt easy but its something you can do if you have the willpower to change yourself Darling you are going to have to start a savings account with direct deposit so that you never even see the money. (that way you won't miss it) Get an interest bearing account as soon as you save enough to meet the minimum. My sister is a surgical RN and the complications of this surgery are awful. Wouldn't it be simpler (not easier) to change your lifestyle? Diet & exercise are the healthiest ways to lose weight. By diet I mean changing the way you eat. Don't drink soda (especially diet), don't eat fried foods. Limit your portion size. Eat lots of high fiber vegetables, lean meat, and fish. There is no way you could NOT lose weight by adopting a healthy eating plan combined with exercise. When I ate a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich every day for breakfast, and a cheeseburger for lunch, guess what? I gained weight, and lots of cellulite. When I quit eating that stuff every day...the weight came off. At the time I was walking sporadically and that was it. I lost 30 lbs in a few months. You don't have to treat adopting a healthy way of eating as some kind of torture and punishment. So, when you say you have tried everything else, I think you're fooling yourself. I worked with a woman who continued to eat fast food after her surgery & losing 100 lbs. She suffered from malnutrition as a result of chronic diarrhea, but it didn't stop her from continuing to eat garbage. I strongly urge you to do some painful soul searching & find a healthier alternative. I would also get some counseling to find out how you got to this place. I wish you all the best. |
