Has anyone had or is considering having bariatric surgery?

please do not answer if you are not serious and can't be of help!

If the surgery doesn't kill you, you will lose a lot of weight very quickly. You will also suffer many painful side effects. You've just torn out a big chunk of your body. Imagine how you'd feel if you removed one and a half kidneys, leaving only half a kidney left? It would do its best to do its job for your body, but it would be overworked, damage easily, and potentially give out. Similarly, cutting out a lot of your gut and stomach makes it much easier for the rest of it to collapse.

Eventually your body will start to recover and try to put itself back to normal. It may or may not be able to manage it. After about five years many people are back at the weight they started at, and some of them then go and have the surgery *again*.

Basically, it is dangerous, but if everything goes well you will lose a lot of weight. But this won't magically make you thin forever. Your body will try to fix itself.

i had the surgery 1 1/2 years ago. I was 300lbs and now I am 160 lbs. I had diabetes type II for near 20 years and was using 5 tablets daily. Also I was taking other 5 tablets for high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. After the operation I didn't take medicine, I only take vitamins. The quality of life change dramatically for better. I have more energy and is more easy to perform the daily activities.
The cons isn't an easy operation the adaptation to the quantity of food is a bit difficult on the beginning. You going to experiment vomit, diarrhea and not all the food that you eat is going to sit well.
I an very happy that I take the decision to do the surgery.
