My friend is having Bariatric surgery and says that it is a liquid diet before and after. What is the diet?

It is as simple as it sounds, liquid diet! I had bariatric surgery and had to be on a liquid diet for a few days before and after. I had clear broths, tea, flavored and plain water, sugar free jello, etc.
