Wouldn't a Bipolar person need Omega 3-6-9 instead of Omega 3 for a better chemical balance?


Some say Omega 3's may help with the depression side or more of Bipolar Disorder as alternative medicine. Why isn't there info about Omega 3-6-9 and this condition? I would think that 6 and 9 would needed to help balance the 3 out.

No. The modern western diet is loaded with omega-6, you don't need to take any at all.

We need an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 4:1. In our modern diet most people are in the range of 20:1 to 50:1 because we are eating so much processed foods. We need to decrease our omega-6's and increase our omega-3's. That means eating less processed crap and eating more fruits, vegetables, fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseed and flaxseed oil.
